Friendship Café Westgate-on-Sea

Gina May Events is proud to announce the arrival of the Friendship Café in Westgate-on-Sea.  This is an informal and friendly coffee morning welcoming friends old and new, and visitors (who we hope will become friends) to Westgate-on-Sea. This not for profit event is for the community of Westgate. There are games and biscuits, and tea and coffee, so come on down and enjoy a cuppa and a chat.  The venue is well behaved dog friendly, and all are welcome. Tea and coffee with biscuits is a nominal £1.50 and refills are free.

The Friendship Café is open on Thursdays, weekly, 9.30-12.00 starting from 11th July 2019, at The Westgate-on-Sea Town Council Offices, St Mildred’s Road, Westgate-on-Sea.

Book Early – June 2019 Classes are filling fast!

Learning for Pleasure with Gina May Events would like to inform you that the presentations of the classes “Art Appreciation – Baroque” starting on 5th June 2019 at The Centre, Birchington is now fully booked as is the Wednesday Evening (5th June 2019) presentation of “Latin for Beginners” at The Centre, Birchington.

Latin for Beginners is also presented at The Centre, Birchington starting Monday 3rd June 2019 at 3pm-4:30pm, and also at The Guildhall, Sandwich starting Friday 7th June 2019 at 1pm-2:30pm. Some places are currently available for both presentations.

Due to popularity and public request, Latin for Beginners is soon to be presented online. For further details contact events@ginamay.co.uk.

Westgate Quiz #3 Goes from Strength to Strength!

What a great night at the Westgate Quiz! Six teams all vying for the main cash prize and the competition could not be closer. Just a small matter of three points between first and second, all down to some key strategic playing of the Joker and cleaning up on the static table rounds.

A fantastic night replete with humour, music and laughter along with some devilish brain teasing questions. Thank you to all who came and we look forward to seeing you all again next month with the Westgate Quiz #4! 29th April 2019.

More Courses from April at The Centre

Hot off the press! Yet more new courses to be delivered at The Centre, Birchington. By popular demand Gina May Events is pleased to confirm that French for Beginners, a gentle introduction to every day French over six weeks is now available to book. The course is immediately followed by a French Conversation Coffee Morning, ‘Réunion-des-Amis’ where French speakers of all abilities can hone their conversational French over coffee. In addition, a six week course embracing the works of the Great Bard William Shakespeare – Shakespeare in Love – the story behind the great loves and losses contained in his work will be discovered.

Supporting the learning, there are some set books for each class available from Amazon in both new and second hand formats. Alternatively, it can be purchased from the tutor on the first day of the course, by prior arrangement.

Each of these new courses run for six weeks from the first week in April and the price is held at the same £75 charged for previous courses, and the coffee mornings are £3.50 weekly.

Gina May Events is proud to announce the addition of new classes starting at the beginning of April to be held at The Centre, Birchington. Following on from the success of Latin for Beginners, World Myths – Ancient Greece, and Art Appreciation – The Renaissance, new courses in Ancient Greek for Beginners, Witchcraft in the Ancient World, and Art Appreciation – The Pre-Raphaelites are now available to book places on.

Ancient Greek for Beginners is supported by a set course book available from Amazon in used or new condition, or from the tutor at the beginning of the course by prior arrangement only.

Each of these new courses run for six weeks from the first week in April and the price is held at the same £75 charged for previous courses.

Westgate Quiz continues to be a success!

The second Westgate Quiz was a huge success! As with last time the tickets sold out and the teams locked intellectual horns in a close run race. For the second week, the same team squeaked a victory by judicious use of the Joker and a near perfect set of table rounds, but the opposition are closing, and closing fast! We’re looking forward to the next clash of the teams on the 25th March.

Tickets are now on sale for the next one, the last Monday of the month as usual, 7pm 25th March 2019 at The Function Room, Town Hall Buildings, St Mildred’s Road, Westgate-on-Sea.
